There can be no home, office, or educational institution without a desk in it. A person spends a lot of time at the desk, whether it is for work or entertainment. Desks may be of various types depending on what use they are put to. There can be study desks, office desks, children's desks, and computer desks.

Children's desks differ from adult desks in their height. Even the chairs for children's desks are low. The surfaces of children's desks are low. They are mostly used by children to do their homework, to finish their assignments, or even to use the computer. Children's desks are mostly made in bright attractive colors.

Wood is the most popular material for making desks. Wood blends beautifully in homes and complements both ancient and modern decor. Plastic and metal desks are also available, but they are not as good looking as wooden desks.

Desks of standard sizes are available on the market. However a person can create a customized desk by hiring a carpenter, depending on the space available in the room. Customized desks are much more expensive than standard desks. The prices of desks depend on their material and design.
